Description This is an Air Force overseas garrison cap. It is made of blue wool with black and silver piping in an "officer's braid". It has a brown leather sweatband and blue satin lining. On the inside lining is printed, "FLIGHT ACE" within a free form design that includes a spade with wings. Underneath this it reads, "TRADEMARK REGISTERED/ALL WOOL/EXCEPT ORNAMENTATIONS/ACE MANUFACTURING CO., INC./SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS". To the right of this it reads, "APPROVED BY HEADQUARTERS/AIR MATERIAL COMMAND USAF/CERTIFICATE NO. Q-14/THIS GARMENT HAS BEEN MFG./IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH/SPECIFICATION NO. REQUIREMENT/WITH AIR FORCE APPRIOVED/MATERIALS"
Notes This was worn by Louis E. Weyhing during the Korean War while stationed at Keesler A.F.B. in the early 1950s. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
