These pantaletts are made of off-white cotton fabric It is constructed from two panels with the seam at the inseam and split openings on both sides (where there is no seam). The waistband is in two parts. The front having the front panels sewn into it and then continuing as a band of fabric only to the back where it is fastened with a white plastic button (replacement?). There should be two other buttons on this band, one on each side (the one on the right side is missing. The back of the waist band has the back panels sewn into it and has a buttonhole on each end that matches the location of the side buttons on the front part of the waistband. On the front of the waist band is hand written in ink is "Mary M. Stephens." The bottom of each leg is finished with three decorative sections. The first section has three rows of three small pleats. The second section is an attached band of embroidery that has a flower and leaf pattern with a zig-zag of trapizoids with open work. The third section is a shear ruffle with narrow lace finish at the hem.
