Description This is a graniteware tinplate pail with a wire handle wrapped through tin "ears" riveted to sides of the pail. There is a black wooden turned handle. The top and bottom rims are wire reinforced.
Notes The University of Kentucky began collecting in 1957 for the Kentucky Life Museum, an endeavor to "provide a permanent place for the hundreds of articles that have had a bearing upon the way people in Kentucky lived and worked..." Eventually, Waveland entered the Kentucky State Park System and was reinterpreted as a house museum. These artifacts were transfered as part of that reinterpretation.
