Description This is a pair of stainless steel frame leg braces. This is a spring loaded pin at knee releases the hinged joint. It has steel reinforced pads at the upper thigh, lower thigh, and upper calf--padded with sandwiched brown and cream leather. There are padded straps at the upper thigh and upper calf. There is a pair of brown and white saddle oxfords attached to the bottom of the frame. They have black shoelaces and rubber heels. The frame is secured by rivets and screws. There are inside pads riveted at the knee, padding the joint.
Notes Gertrude Doll contacted polio at an early age and wore these braces from 1953-1971.
