Description This is a circular political campaign button from the Michael Dukakis and Lloyd Bentsen campaign for United States President and Vice President. It is a celluloid-type button with a safety-pin closure. The button has a white background with a red border on top, a black and white photo graph of the two candidates, and a blue border on the bottom. The red border inlaid text that says "FOR PRESIDENT." The blue border has inlaid text that says "FOR VICE PRESIDENT." The black and white image of the candidates features blue text that reads "DUKAKIS" and "BENTSEN" below their respective portraits. The button also has the year of the election printed on the outer center with the portrait in the middle: 1988. The edge of the button also has the text "FRIENDS OF DUKAKIS BENTSEN."
Notes Democrats Michael Dukakis and Lloyd Bentsen lost to George Bush and Dan Quayle in the 1988 presidential election.
