The exterior of the closure has eleven decorative fabric covered buttons down the front. The bodice comes to a point at the center front. The piece has two curved darts on each side with boning. The bodice is decorated with darker green fringe beginning at center front about half way down and swagging to waist at side seam. The piece is fully lined with brown polished cotton. The bodice back has curved seams and comes down to a rectangular "flap" with a center pleat beginning at the waist. A bow decoration of same fabric is at the waist. Fringe borders the back "flap" or skirt of the bodice. The set-in sleeves consist of a bell shaped sleeve with fringed edging and a velvet band and detachable straight undersleeves (parts c & d). The top part of the undersleeves are of polished cotton and the lower part is of the same green fabric as the rest of the bodice. The undersleeves are trimmed with a green velvet ribbon near the cuff. There is a green fabric band at the top of the sleeves (part c). Part b is a skirt of same green fabric. A new waistband has been attached for display purposes. The center front panel of the skirt is attached to the waistband. Panels on either side are attached to waistband with three tucks. The bottom of the skirt is decorated with a row of green velvet ribbon and a double ruffle. A second wider row of velvet ribbon and a single ruffle is beneath the double ruffle. The bottom of the skirt gathers up in scallops held by velvet ribbon tabs that are pointed on each end. The skirt is fully lined with polished cotton and has a center back closure. A pocket is inset into seam between center front panel and right front panel.
