Description This is a "Log Cabin" patterned quilt. It is made of silk, wool, and cotton solids, plaids, and prints. There are sixty-four blocks in an 8 x 8 grid. The light and dark fabrics alternate to create a visual perception of dark squares set on end divided by a light zig-zag line. The piece is machine-quilted. There is a green wool five inch border that has repairs on the upper edge left and lower left corner. The binding tape is of the same green. The quilt has a dark brown calico backing. The backing is attached with ties with a blue yarn and was not quilted with the green border. The quilt is quite worn and several woven silk and fabrics are shredding.
