Description This is a carved wooden shuttle with a rectangular mortise in the center. There is an oval hole in the bottom of the mortise. There is a hole in the side of the shuttle for thread to go to the loom. There are holes in the sides of the mortise to hold a spool of thread. There is a shallow groove in the bottom. The shuttle is varnished.
Notes Collected by the donor over the last thirty years from barns, storage sheds, and antique stores in north central Kentucky and probably southern Indiana and Ohio as well.
