Description This sampler has the alphabet sewn in five different styles on three fourths of it. There are nine dividing bands and a full color border. The personalized names and initials in the lower portion has "C. Woodroof" on the left with "Ann Boggs" on the right . "PSH" is in between those two. "MAG," "EC," and "F. Harris" are below the "C. Woodroof." "JFML" and "C. Harris" are below "Ann Boggs." Seven different stitches are used throughout that were common in the early 1800s and include the basic cross stitch, queen stitch and the single thread cross stitch. The dyes are domestic vegetable dyes that have faded with age but were once vibrant hues of peach, green, gold and blue. "Eliza D Harris / was born July 1st / 1810" is the center on the bottom.
