Description This .36 caliber M1851 Navy Colt Revolver has no blue finish remaining and an iron back strap and trigger guard. A Texas navy scene is inscribed on the cylinder.
Notes This revolver is one of a pair carried by John Cabell Breckinridge during his service as a general officer in the Confederate Army and as Secretary of War for the Confederate States during the Civil War. Breckinridge was previously a Kentucky senator and vice president of the United States under President James Buchanan (1857-1861).
