Description This is a Regulator Wall Clock is a mahogany veneered wooden cabinet. It has twelve sided molding around face with hinges on the right and the catch on the left. The tin face is painted white with black Roman numerals. There is a small second hand subdial above the hands. The hands are made of black tin with a fleur-de-lis at the pointers. The works are made of brass and are hand-machined. The bottom cabinet door has a rectangular glass panel painted black on interior with gold decoration around clear oval with floral tracery and a medieval keep at the bottom. The clock has a brass pendulum. There ia a black manufacturer's label glued to the interior of the lower cabinet.
Notes Collected by former staff at Eastern State Hospital for a planned museum, 1956-69. Eastern was opened in 1824 as the state "Lunatic Asylum." The collection documented the lives of patients as sick persons and as wards of the state forced to earn their keep.
