Description This blade is known as a brush hook, hook axe or brush scythe. It has a curved hand made hardwood handle with a pommel at the end. It flattens where it fits into the blade, which is made of curved wrought iron. The blade fits parallel to the handle on the flattened end, and is fitted on the handle with two bolted wrought iron brackets.
Notes Collected by the donor from antique shops and barns, etc. in southern Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky over the last thirty years.
