Notes Exerpt from a letter from the donor:
"This is the pen that was used by Emma Guy Cromwell when she was State Treasurer of Kentucky. With it she signed the checks, reciepts, papers and documents relating to the thousands - yes the millions - of dollars that passed through her hands when she held the important office.

Mrs. Cromwell was a pioneer in politics and when she was elected in 1924 as Secretary of State she was one of the very few women who had held that office in any state. Then, in 1928, she had the unique honor of being the first woman treasurer of any state in the Union."
