Description This model of a home named Castlewood is made of plaster. It has a hollow plaster base that is painted white and has "CASTLEWOOD / MADISON COUNTY KENTUCKY" molded into it. The house is a two-story Georgian style with two side additions and one outbuilding in the back. The house is painted brick red with a grey foundation and green roof. The model is at a 1/8" to 1' scale.
Notes In 1934-35, the Works Progress Administration proposed a project to produce architectural models of historic buildings for museums and schools to provide employment for artists and art teachers. Around 28 of these models were produced of Kentucky sites.
