|Description||This model of a home named Castlewood is made of plaster. It has a hollow plaster base that is painted white and has "CASTLEWOOD / MADISON COUNTY KENTUCKY" molded into it. The house is a two-story Georgian style with two side additions and one outbuilding in the back. The house is painted brick red with a grey foundation and green roof. The model is at a 1/8" to 1' scale.|
In 1934-35, the Works Progress Administration proposed a project to produce architectural models of historic buildings for museums and schools to provide employment for artists and art teachers. Around 28 of these models were produced of Kentucky sites.
Castlewood was located in Madison County, Kentucky. Images are available in the Kentucky Historical Society on-line digital collection.
