Nathaniel Hart, III, (born between 1780 and 1790 and died in Woodford, County between 1850-55.) He was the son of Nathaniel Hart, Jr. and Susana Preston Hart. He was also the brother of Mrs. Isaac Shelby as well as the grandson of Captain Nathaniel Gray Hart, a tragic war hero from the River Raisin Massacre.
The file indicates that the painting has been attributed to Joseph H. Bush (1794-1865).
