Description This is a lithographed, pin-backed button from Al Gore's unsuccessful 1988 bid for the presidency. The upper 60% of the button has a blue background with "Al/Gore" printed in white letters. Below that is a thin red horizontal line over a white one that passes through three white stars on the left and "'88" in white on the right. Below, there is a red background and the word "President" in white.
Notes Al Gore, Senator from Tennessee, was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and 1992. He became Bill Clinton's running mate and was elected vice president in 1992 and 1996.
