Description This is a wooden framed footwarmer with a tin coal box. It has pierced tin with circular design on door and a thin tin handle at the top of the piece.
Notes Old card, "Footwarmer used by Mrs. Margaret Mason Brown." Margaretta Mason married U.S. Senator John Bown in February 21, 1799 and the two lived in their home in Frankfort, Liberty Hall. They had five children. Two children, Mason and Orlando, lived to maturity. Mason Brown became Sec. of State under Gov. Morehead. He was raised at his parents' home, Liberty Hall in Frankfort.
