Description This is a silver dinner fork with four tines. It has a raised shell pattern on the end of the handle and on the backside of the body of the fork. There is an acanthus leaf motif on the handle (front and back).
Notes Taylor and Robert D. Laurie were Philadlephia silversmiths 1837-1850. The donor received the forks from his grandfather Lewis Hemphill of Jessamine County, where he presumably lived. They were possibly originally used by his parents Mildred and Andrew Hemphill.
