The top is stationary on one side and perforated with a clover pattern flanked by circles. The side that swings up on the hinge is perforated with a rising sun pattern. A small knob is set into the edge of the hinged side to allow easy lifting of the lid. On either side of the cylinder are wrought iron brackets riveted to the sides. These brackets hold a half-circle iron handle. The interior has a thin sheet of iron riveted around the sides and the bottom. It was once enameled black.
