|Description||This is a small, orange, photocopied slip of paper which may have been probably distributed around Halloween. In black text across the slip of paper is printed "GIVE YOUR CHILDREN A / $4 TRILLION DOLLAR TREAT / PAY OFF THE NATIONAL DEBT ... VOTE / PEROT."|
Texas billionaire Ross Perot launched two, largely self-financed campaigns for the presidency in 1992 and 1996. His call for a balanced budget attracted a substantial grassroots following. This slip of paper with its bright orange color and text reference to giving children treats was likely distributed around Halloween.
This object was donated on October 15, 1997 by Drexell R. Davis. Davis, a self-described "Yellow Dog" Democrat, held several elected positions in the Kentucky state government. His thirty-three years of public service prompted his interest in collecting political memorabilia.
