Description This is a laminated wood block with five layers of wood glued together. The top layer has been machine routed to create a pattern. Hardwood pieces in the same design are glued to top of routed pattern. There are two handholds on the back of the block. Ten round headed nails are visible on the back but only on one side. The pattern is a series of butterflies with wings spread and antennae. The sides of block are painted white but discolored. On one short side are the numbers "51523."
Notes Collected by the donor from antique stores, barns, etc. in southern Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky over the last thirty years.
