Description This is a man's white silk necktie. It has a checkered pattern and a central seam that run the length of the tie. It is wider at the ends, which are straight, with the wider end being at the bottom. There is a label on the back of the tie that reads, "KB. & A./NEWTON, KAS."
Notes Worn by Ralph P. Schnacke in his November 18, 1909 wedding to Lilah A. Smith. The donor said the items in this collection belonged to her mother's sister. When they passed away, the clothing was left to her mother. As a child the donor said she loved playing dress up and had a rich supply of clothing. Other family members gave the donor items over the years as they learned of her collecting interests. It is unclear who wore the clothing but a letter in the file indicates that the family lived in Kansas.
