|Dimensions||H-3.25 W-3.5 inches|
This is a small clay vase (A) and fragment of a lid (B). The vase is round at the middle with a narrow neck and wider opening. The base is narrow and not flat, as the vase wobbles. It is painted clay, a light beige color. There is a red ring around the opening and some beige paint on the inside of the opening, but the rest of the inside is natural. Around the middle is a red and black horizontal stripe design. There is a "502" written in pencil on the side.
Note inside: "136-39 Indian Vase From the Orient. Give my Mr. & Mrs. M. (illegible) Thatcher."
The fragment is less than half of the original size. It is natural clay except for the top rim, which is burnt orange/red.
