The inner/top opening is edged with a black floral applique. There is an "arm" with a round disk on the end covered with black velvet extending into the top opening. The netting veil is anchored there. The interior of the hat has a gold rick-rack trim and green lace lining. There are two tortoise-shell combs on the inside
Notes The donor said the items in this collection belonged to her mother's sister. When they passed away, the clothing was left to her mother. As a child the donor said she loved playing dress up and had a rich supply of clothing. Other family members gave the donor items over the years as they learned of her collecting interests. It is unclear who wore the clothing but a letter in the file indicates that the family lived in Kansas.
