Description This mitre box has one inch thick boards nailed together to form table and back rest at 90 degree angle.The slot in back rest has angled cutouts. There is a cast iron plate screwed to the top of the back with a geared cast iron saw guide fitted into tooth on plate. There are 90 degree and two 45 degree slots cut into table. There are two bent-over finishing nails in left side.
Notes Used for holding the saw at fixed angle to workpiece. This is a more elaborate version, adjustable to ten different angles. Collected by the donor from antique shops and barns, etc. in southern Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky over the last thirty years.
