Description This Rococo Revival arm chair is part of a fourteen piece parlor set. The wood trim of the chair is a veneered walnut. This piece is not stained to look like rosewood. The crestrail has floral embellishments and has a notched top edge. The sides of the wooden frame around the back are also notched or curved inward at the point where the arms are attached. There are stylized acanthus leaves on the hand rests and there is a fluting and a stylized leaf or feather design on the front the arm supports. There are also ancathus leaves at the knee and foot of the chair. There are brass casters on the front legs. The back,seat and arm pads are upholstered in a reproduction rose damask.
Notes This sofa is part of fourteen piece parlour set used at 'Liberty Hall' in Frankfort, Kentucky. It was originally purchased in New Orleans by the Brown family.
