3 material samples of fabric are in a plain weave structure. The warp is clear Mylar (BoPET plastic) strips with intermittent silver Mylar stripes. There are weft stripes in clear Mylar; two-ply wool yarns in ombré-dyed light gray/marigold and mint green/marigold; silver metallic gimp thread; and gold and iridescent Mylar. One sample does not have the mint green wool stripes. The side edges are selvage and the other edges are taped. There are no identifying tags or marks on these pieces. These pieces were made in collaboration with Churchill Weavers and Gerhardt Knodel. |
