2007.45.1052. 1 Wool and rayon, "Kashir Wrap" shawl is woven in a tight plain weave structure. The fabric is woven in stripes with reverse repeat patten. The ends are woven in an open weave and finished with unknotted fringe. Warp threads form two pastel yellow stripes. Weft threads are varying width stripes with reverse repeat pattern of pastel yellow, light gray, pastel green, mustard, orange, blue, light blue, lavender and violet. There is a sewn on muslin label reading "Churchill Handwoven" and a cardboard product tag reading "11525/ The/ Churchill/ Weavers/ Berea, KY" on one side and "Kashir/ Wrap/ Cl. 100/ Pat. 19" on the other side. Measurements are 40H(weft) x 84L(warp) in inches. |
