Description |
This lithographed theatrical poster is long and narrow. It features a 3/4 length image of Kate Clayton who gazes to the viewer's left. Her hair is long and hangs in curls in the front and back of her shoulders. Her dress has a frothy lace at high collar and sleeves. The image has a twig pattern border and is signed by the artist. Below the image is the lithographer and Kate Clayton's signature printed in black. The theatre bill printed on yellow paper with dates and location that was attached to the bottom is mostly torn offut "Macauley's Theatre" can still be read. |

This poster was used as packing material in miscellaneous containers recovered from the attic of the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Ky. The poster was deaccessioned by the Speed in 1991 and transferred to the Kentucky Historical Society in 1997. |
