Description |
This is a brown glass vial of Mercarbolide with wide mouth for a cork. The cork is intact. The white paper label with black print reads, "Physician's Sample Tincture Mercarbolide." |

From the traveling obstetrics bag of Owen County doctor Arthur Threlkeld (1862-1942). Dr. Threlkeld was a fixture in Wheatley in Owen County, although he frequently traveled as far as Carroll County. He used a horse and buggy until 1920, when he bought his first Model T. |
