Description |
This is an illustration from the April 12, 1890 edition of Leslie's Illustrated Weekly. The image is captioned "The Tornado's Work at Louisville.-View of Baxter Park after the Storm. / Photo by Klauber.-[See Page 221.]" The image shows a man standing in a cluster of rubble looking at the viewer. In the middle ground small crowds of people are walking on the road just beyond the mess. Horses and trolleys are being pulled in to the scene. Off in the distance, one can see a row of barren trees and one large electrical pole in front of a silhouette of buildings. Just above the image was another cropped off image with the caption "A Novel Scene at the Vatican.-Buffalo Bill's Cowboys and Red Men Blessed by the Pope." On the backside is a clipping of an article entitled "An Easter Query on 'The Eastern Question.'" |
