Description |
This is a one-piece red wool swimsuit. It has a low scooped neckline and low cut armholes with narrow shoulder straps. There are a pair of short trunks joined to the vest top at the hip seam. The short hip-level skirt covers the trunks. There is a blue and yellow aquatic appliqué pattern on the proper left breast and the proper right hip. The armholes have been taken in with white stitches. |

The clothing items in this donation belonged to Hazel Neal Bennett who was born in Williamstown Kentucky. She was a career woman who worked for the Farm Home Administration. She married a farmer named Glenmore Bennett . The couple had no children. They opened the department store called Frakes and Bennett in Williamstown. They sold general dry goods and clothing. Hazel was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker. |
