Description |
This is a mine detector search coil with control box. It has a round coil with an extension tube attached. The tube has a keyhole slot for attaching other extensions. The operating cord is attached to the coil. The cord has been taped with black electrical tape in two areas and it is secured to the extension with a web strap. The cord extends to the control box which is a rectangular box with two adjustment knobs. There is one two way switch and one momentary switch. The side has a belt attachment. The cord extends through the box to a six pronged keyed plug. The cord is insulated in black rubber. The coil, control box, and extension are olive drab green. |

Donor purchased this item at a surplus sale at Fort Knox, Kentucky. This type of detector set is common for late WWII, but in its current configuration suggests it was used up to and during the Korean War. |
