Description |
This is a German Cartridge Box. It is made of dark brown leather, in a rectangular shape. There are two leather straps on either side with a hole that is used to attach to metal hardware on the lid. There is a strap on the center of the front with a brass buckle. On either side of that buckle are two longer leather straps that extend to the bottom of the container, where there are holes that attach to two brass knobs. There are two leather loops for the straps to go through as they extend to the bottom, which are attached with brass fixtures. The leather lid is attached with a leather hinge, which allows it to open and close. There is a brass square ring on the back. The interior has two leather dividers, made of one piece of wrapped leather, resulting in three compartments. There is a khaki-colored herringbone weave cloth strip inside, as well. |
