This julep cup has straight sides and has banded top and bottom rims. There is a monogram script engraved on the front that reads "AMH." |
Notes |
Stuart Price Hemphill received the cup from his grandfather Lewis Hemphill of Jessamine County. Hemphill believed that the cup was won at a fair or horse show as a prize. Asa Blanchard (d. 1838) was a silversmith and master craftsman who operated a shop on the corner of Mill & Short Street in Lexington from 1810-1838. |
