This three-quarter length portrait is of Lt. Chilton A. Osborn. Osborn is depicted in a United States officer's frock coat with a cap in his right hand wearing gauntlets. Included in the image representations of his sword, pistol holster, cartridge box and rectangular belt buckle. Osborn is shown with brown hair and blue eyes. The frame is gold painted plaster-decorated wood with an oval center window. |

Lt. Chilton, probably from Paintsville, Kentucky, was an officer in company B, 14th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. He died from wounds received at the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, Ga. June 22, 1864. |
