Description |
This is a cream-colored silk ribbon with red-inked lettering from the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) Convention held in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1902. It reads "Convention / U.D.C. / New Orleans / November 12, /1902." There are a set of four horizontal thin lines above and below the letters "U.D.C." Below the text is a gold crescent moon. |
Notes |
The National Association of the Daughters of the Confederacy was organized in 1894 and in 1895 became the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC). It is an organization of women who are blood descendants of men and women who honorably served in the army, navy or civil service of the Confederate States of America or gave material aid to the cause. The UDC has an annual convention each year, and representatives from the state divisions attend. There is a Kentucky division of the UDC with several chapters. This ribbon's Kentucky connection is unclear. |
