Notes |
Bobby H. Richardson was a lawyer and politician who became a State Representative in 1972 and served in that post until 1990. He was the Majority Leader between 1976 and 1982 and became the Speaker in 1982, a post he kept until 1985. In 1991 he ran for the office of Lt. Governor, claiming he would slash his own budget if elected and reduce the staff of the position from 20 to 2. Having several times tried to abolish the position of Lt. Governor, which he thought was just a stepping stone to becoming Governor, his decision to enter the race was based on, he said, the desire to turn the position into something useful and no long wasteful. This poster was donated on December 1, 1992 by Drexel Davis. Davis, a self-described "Yellow Dog" Democrat, held several elected positions in the Kentucky state government. His thirty-three years of public service prompted his interest in collecting political memorabilia. |
