Description |
This is a hatchet style tobacco knife. It has a long,(approx. 18"), wooden handle, which seems to have been painted black in it's early life, attached to a four sided steel blade by two rivets. The handle is broken off at the top rivet. The cutting edge of the blade is longer than the opposite parallel edge, which is attached to the handle. |
Notes |
A tobacco knife is used to cut the plant stalk off at the ground and split the stalk in half prior to stacking the stalk for wilting. |
