Description |
This souvenir button was made for the dedication of the New Capitol Building. The button is made in a celluloid process and has a black and white photo of the New Capitol Building featured on the front. Beneath the photo there is an inscription that reads "DEDICATED JUNE 2-1910/ FRANKFORT, KY." The button has three ribbons attached at the bottom made from red, white, and blue silk and glued into the collar on the reverse. The back has a straight copper wire stickpin for the closure. |

This button was made for the dedication of the New Capitol Building in Frankfort, KY that was dedicated on June 2, 1910. This was the fourth Capitol building since Kentucky became a state. The first two Capitol buildings burned down and the third Capitol building was used until the construction of the new Capitol. The Old State Capitol is currently run as a museum by the Kentucky Historical Society. |
