Description |
This political button has a two-part metal back with pin, over which printed paper has been laid with a plastic covering. The background is dark blue at the edges and fades to red than white at the center. At the top are red letters with white outlines "THE RIGHT CHOICE." Below this is a circle of gold stars. At the top of the circle is an image of the Liberty Bell and at the bottom is an image of the American flag. In the center of the pin are two smaller circles in red, white and blue. Inside the one on the left is an image of George Bush. On the border, "PRESIDENT" is at the top and "GEORGE BUSH" is at the bottom. Dick Cheney is in the circle on the right. On the border, "VICE PRESIDENT" is at the top and "DICK CHENEY" is at the bottom. At the bottom of the pin is "FOR AMERICA" in red letters with white outline. |

Republicans George W. Bush (Governor of Texas) and his running mate, Richard Cheney (Pennsylvania) defeated Vice President Al Gore of Tennessee and his running mate, Senator Joseph Lieberman, in the 2000 presidential race. Gore narrowly won the popular vote count but lost in the electoral college to Bush. |
