Description |
This is a blue cardboard three ounce package of "Blu White" fabric bluing. The instructions are on the back. There is a coupon/promotion for Rogers silver service on the side panel. |
Notes |
Fabric bluing was basically a whitener, based on the theory that blue-white was a more "pure" white tone. Different formulas were developed in the last quarter of the nineteenth century as fashion dictated crisp clean white garments. From the kitchen of the donor's mother, Louise Moss Chesher (pictured next to her husband see file for photograph). |
