Description |
This political button has a two-part metal back with pin, over which printed paper has been laid with a plastic covering. It has a wide dark blue border with white lettering and two stars, "* KENTUCKY WANTS * / FOR CONGRESS / BRIAN ROY." The interior is white with a shooting star and "Gore / Lieberman / 2000" over the image of a rooster. |

Vice President Al Gore of Tennessee and his running mate, Senator Joseph Lieberman, were defeated in the 2000 presidential race by Republicans George W. Bush (Governor of Texas) and Richard Cheney (Pennsylvania). Gore narrowly won the popular vote count but lost in the electoral college. Brian Roy lost his bid for Congress from the 1st District to incumbent Republican Ed Whitfield. |
