Notes |
This is the one-millionth Toyota Camry made in the United States. Toyota Motor's manufacturing plant in Georgetown, Kentucky opened in December 1987. An important factor in the location decision was a controversial incentive package offered by Gov. Martha Layne Collins. The one millionth Camry rolled off the plant's assembly line on October 12, 1993. The Georgetown plant is Toyota's largest manufacturing facility outside of Japan. It builds Avalons, Camrys and Siennas. In 2000, they produced more than 495,000 vehicles and 479,000 engines. |
