Description |
This is a plastic nametag with an attached ribbon for the reunion of Submarine Veterans of World War II in 1977. There is a red stripe across the top of the white paper insert with the black typed name of the donor, Alene Elliott, and Kentucky. There is also white lettering on the red stripe that reads "WELCOME' and red printed lettering on the bottom that reads "TRAVEL AND CONVENTION DEPARTMENT/ MOBILE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE." There is a red stripe across the top of the white paper insert with the black typed name of the donor, "EWERT ELLIOTT". There is also white lettering on the red stripe that reads "WELCOME' and red printed lettering on the bottom that reads "TRAVEL AND CONVENTION DEPARTMENT/ MOBILE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE". There is a pale pink satin ribbon stapled to the nametag that is hemmed at the top of chevron cut ends. There is gold metallic lettering on the ribbon that reads "CONVENTION/ SOUTHERN REGION/ SUBMARINE/ VETERANS/ W W II/ MOBILE, ALA./ MAY 12-14, 1977". There is a metal pinback attached to the back of the nametag. |

This belonged to the donor's husband, Ewert W. Elliott. Ewert and Alene Elliott both were members of the United States Submarine Veterans of World War II (USSVWWII). Ewert served aboard the USS Seal (SS-183) and the USS Macabi (SS-375) submarines in World War II. |
