Notes |
American Sound Magazine went out of business in 1973. At age 15, Lisa Luthy of Campbell County became the first young woman in Kentucky to win a regional championship in the Soap Box Derby, from the Northern Kentucky-Greater Cincinnati region. In August 1975, Luthy competed in the national competition in Akron, OH, winning her first heat but losing in the second round. Luthy began racing in the derby in 1972 in cars built by her father, James Luthy. The Soap Box Derby, a race for gravity powered cars, began in 1934. |
