Description |
This nylon flag has a field of red with two white stars appliqued to the center. The two stars represent the rank of the officer to whom the flag belonged. There is gold fringe on three sides and the flag has the same design on the reverse. |
Notes |
Major General J.J.B Williams was a native of Mount Vernon, KY. He was a veteran of the Mexican Border Campaign, WWI and II. He was appointed Adjutant General in 1955 and oversaw the deployment of the Kentucky National Guard to the Clay-Sturgis area of Western Kentucky. The guard was deployed to control disorder concerning integration of local public schools. After retirement he became the president of the Citizens National Bank at Somerset, KY. Williams died in November of 1970 and is buried at Mill Springs Cemetery in Jessamine Co. |
