Description |
This is a hand-crocheted bedspread. It is an off-white hexagonal block with pinwheel motif design. The pinwheels are embellished with six "balls" on every spoke of the pinwheel. There are six spokes for a total of thirty six "balls" per block. There is a knotted yarn fringe around three edges leaving the top of the bedspread plain. The bottom edge is notched to accommodate the bedposts at the feet. |

Martha Lou Meek Holton made this cover in Somerset. Martha worked at the Kentucky state prison in Frankfort for a time and also worked in department stores. Her husband, George Holton, was a farmer in Somerset. |
