Description |
This is a cast iron flatiron with a rounded tapered front and a flat back. There is a wrought iron strap handle welded into slots on the top of the iron with a cast iron grip on the handle. |
Notes |
This is a factory made flat iron. It would be heated in a hearth or stovetop. It was used to smooth clothes and versions like this were available and used well into the 20th century. |
