Notes |
Made by the Cornelison Family around 1940 at their pottery in Bybee in Madison County, the oldest continously operated pottery west of the Appalachian Mountains. The pottery was open by 1845 and possibly as early as 1809. The donor's mother, Ida Chaney Alcorn, sold Bybee pottery from her home on Route 60 east of Louisville from the late 1920s through the 1950s. This lid probably came from a sugar bowl or teapot. |
